Leeds United striker flop undecided over permanent deal at loan club

Leeds United’s loaned out striker Caleb Ekuban has told Turkish news outlet Fotospor that he is undecided over whether he wants to make his loan deal with Trabzonspor permanent at the end of the season.

Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban has said that he will look at his long-term future with loan club Trabzonspor at the end of the season.

The striker’s Leeds United career seemed over upon the arrival of manager Marcelo Bielsa, after he failed to impress during his first season in the Championship.

The Italy-born striker was sent on loan to the Turkish side after failing to make an impression at Elland Road in his first campaign in the Championship. In 21 appearances in all competitions, Ekuban scored just two goals, leaving him way down the pecking order upon the arrival of Bielsa.

Now, with the summer window approaching, the question has been raised regarding a possible permanent deal with the Turkish side.

“My goal is to play as much as I can until the end of the season and take as much time as I can,” Ekuban said.

“We’ll look at the end of the season.

“Our goal is to win our matches and go to Europe more easily. Opening the gap with the bottom. We know the league and we know that each team can beat each team, we will win our matches and we will continue on our way.”

Ekuban has made a good impression during his time with the Turkish side, impressing the fans as the club sit in 4th place in the league. The striker has scored seven goals since joining on loan last summer, providing three assists along the way as well.
