David Beckham reached out to Birmingham City investor Tom Brady after he got 'roasted' on Netflix over the weekend.

Brady was nowhere to be seen as Blues were relegated from the Championship on Saturday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion, 46, was instead gearing up to be pulled apart by comedians and celebrities on Netflix.

Even Brady’s former head coach at the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, got in on the act and poked fun at his association with Blues. “I see your soccer team Birmingham City got knocked down to another tier in the English Football League,” said Belichick.

“For those not familiar with English football and the intricacies of the obscure relegation system, just let me say, I’ll put it in English for you – they suck. Not so easy running a team is it Tom?”

Other jokes were more personal and former England footballer Beckham, now president of MLS franchise Inter Miami, has since checked on Brady. "The whole concept is quite funny. It was very funny. But I know Tom well, and I must admit, I did fire him a message just to check if he was OK," Beckham said. "He's more than OK, but, yeah, it was hard to watch.”

Brady visited Birmingham to watch two Championship matches last season. He enjoyed the 1-0 win over Leeds United in August, days after his involvement was announced by Blues owners Knighthead, and also took in the 0-0 draw with Rotherham United in December.
